An Absence of Generative Dialogue

An Absence of Generative Dialogue Overspending emotional and finanical resources on who or what caused a problem results in a sometimes premeditated reduction of oppositions’ energy and resources to ultimately solve the problem. Too much time is spent defending a position when most know it has failed. A lack of harmony can be crucial to change efforts if used productively, however, but it must include dialogue and critical listening instead of flinging the same overtired message in the face of others. The negativity of one group can affect the success of the environment or systems. This becomes more pervasive as partial or misunderstood information and problematic relations ripple out creating a larger divide within the country. There will be individuals who step back, isolated, diminishing important knowledge and experiential resources and those who will try to remain politically safe, subverting potential group success. Stronger barriers on both sides will result, further challenging the systems’ best intentions. Shawn M.
